We built a Blockbuster at HLTH. Here's why.
A metaphor for the industry today, and the prescription experience we envision for the future.
A metaphor for the industry today, and the prescription experience we envision for the future.
We’ve all been left in the dark about a prescription, in some way or another.
Where is it available? How much does it cost? When can I get it?
The lack of transparency in pharmacy is outdated compared to the ease of other everyday consumer experiences, like accessing entertainment or getting groceries.
In many industries, a shift in technology has completely changed the experience for the consumer. Apple changed how we access music. Uber changed how we get around. Netflix changed how we watch movies.
A shift where technology enables consumer agency is long overdue in healthcare.
When you arrive at our “booth” at HLTH, you’re first met with old VHS cassettes titled with somewhat meaningless alphabet soup EHR, ERX, FHIR —a playful representation of all the jargon and “tech” in pharmacy. It's all VHS.
Take a step into our living room to experience our vision from the comfort of a couch. Receiving a prescription today should feel modern, yet simple. More like Netflix.
Photon Health redesigned the prescription experience around people.
We have quietly built a modern prescription network that gives consumers ownership. Photon’s network, unlike the ones that exist today, enables patients to know exactly what they’re buying, how much it costs, and when they’ll receive it – it’s really the first prescription marketplace!
By default, patients receive their prescriptions via text, where they can filter on location, price, and even store hours to help make a more informed decision. We help patients avoid issues like closed pharmacies, out-of-stock medications, and long wait times.
Photon’s technology has improved the experience not only for patients and caregivers but for providers as well. We lift the admin burden from providers on managing downstream pharmacy issues and empower patients to choose the options that work best for them.
As a result, Photon enables providers to save more time that could be spent elsewhere and helps to increase time-to-treatment for patients, a key metric in measuring outcomes.
