Because DoseSpot’s ePrescribe functionality couldn’t be integrated into Measured’s custom EHR, prescribing medication was tedious. Navigating out of the EHR, providers had to open DoseSpot separately, search for the patient, and manually enter pharmacy and prescription information once more.

The extra few minutes these steps required resulted in providers dedicating several hours per month to data re-entry. This also caused more human error in prescription or pharmacy information, which led to re-work by providers and avoidable delays in medication for patients.

While Measured wanted to solve this issue, DoseSpot didn’t offer Measured the control to improve the prescribing experience directly.

Finally, Measured’s patient support team spent nearly 40 hours weekly completing forms to submit mail-order pharmacy prescriptions, as Measured did not have direct integrations with these pharmacies.

If a retail pharmacy can fill the medication, patients can open the secure link they received via text to compare and select pharmacy locations.

Photon confirms stock status and a ready-by time with the pharmacy, keeping patients in the loop on these updates. Photon also supplements Measured’s communications on insurance needs for branded GLP-1 prescriptions, notifying patients of possible delays.

For issues like out-of-stock treatments or pharmacy closures, patients can open the secure link to reroute their prescription to a new pharmacy–without contacting their provider. If questions arise, they can rely on Photon’s 24/7 text support.
